Last week, I logged into my visualizer to find things slightly different. ‘Did I miss something?’ I thought as I looked around the once-familiar platform to find things looking somewhat foreign. When I checked to see if Mydoma had released anything, it was clear that I wasn’t the only one surprised. So, I contacted my Mydoma pros and VAs network to get the skinny! I was told this was a surprise to everyone that it just...appeared. The team knew it was coming but had intended to give us a heads-up with release dates. The developer had other plans. As with any update or change, the Mydoma team assured me they were on it, and we would all get more info soon. In the meantime, I did some exploring on my own, and I want to share with you what I found, what I think about the updates, and how to tackle projects moving forward with V5.0 of the visualizer. Don’t worry; Mydoma has since released a detailed tech update, which I’ll share in this post, too!
Overview: Things I'm Loving Most
Multi-Level View
Better Floor Plan Tools
Layout Tool

Multi-Level View
This has gotten a HUGE upgrade, and I, personally, have been waiting for a long time to see it! You can now see ALL floors at once! Finally, placing stairs will be much easier, and adding seamless exterior finishes will be a breeze! Check out the tutorial video below for a walk-through of how this game-changer will save you so much time and frustration!
Better Floor Plan Tools
Version 5.0 brought a new look to the floor plan tool menu and a much easier way to add wall niches, arched doorways, and split/merge walls. There are a few quirks to learn when placing things, but it’s an easy tweak to your flow that will make this a super smooth transition, and I love that I don’t have to hop between the components, construction, and 2D/3D views to accomplish some of these tasks anymore! Learn more at the tutorials below!
Layout Tool
Do you wish you could create simple furniture layout drawings? Wish granted! This enhanced tool lets you do just that! After drawing your walls, you can choose from a legend library to place symbols where you want them, resize them, and change their orientation. The best part is that with a simple toggle of preferences in your visualizer settings, you can sync the symbols to models, making it a breeze to swap products. Be sure to watch the tutorial below to ensure you have the correct settings in your visualizer ready to sync up!
I hope this helps you get acquainted with the updates and makes adjusting easier. I, for one, am excited about these updates, and I look forward to learning more!
